Ski schools and childcare
There are two specialised ski schools for the kids, where they can learn how to ski in a playful way using modern equipment. Skiing in a group is not only easier, but it also gives children the chance to make new friends.
PS: It goes without saying that children are also well looked after all day at the kids’ clubs on the mountains.

The Kids’ slope on the Hintertux Glacier is the perfect place for little ones to start their first adventures off the main slopes. Always by their side: the Glacier Bug Luis, a fun companion who keeps spirits high. The gentle beginner-friendly terrain around the Sommerbergalm is ideal for helping young skiers gain confidence and have fun from the start.
Looking for more speed and excitement? Head to the Fun Slope, also near the Sommerbergalm at 2,100 metres. With giant snow snails, wave tracks, and exciting obstacles, it’s full of thrills for all ages.
And the fun doesn’t stop there – another action-packed Kids’ Slope awaits at Rastkogel in the Ski- & Glacier World Zillertal 3000.

Albert Adler Tour – Mt Ahorn
When adventure calls and kids become action heroes
At Mt Ahorn, the new Albert Adler Tour promises fun for the whole family. It’s pure joy watching children line up at the start – eyes wide, face beaming, ready to race off.
The fun ride, including the new Family Park, is packed with action and surprises. This parallel trail stretches far beyond just a few metres – winding through curves and forest paths with fun challenges at every turn.
Better Park
One of the highest and most snow-reliable freestyle spots
Snowboarders and freeriders flock to Betterpark. Located at 3,200 metres at the foot of Mt Olperer, it’s the favourite meeting place for the local and international snowboard and freeride scene – and for good reason. It’s regarded as one of the best snow parks in the Alps, it offers ideal conditions for riders of all levels, including pros training for the competition season. As the first snow park in Europe to open in autumn, Betterpark sets the pace. And taking off like an eagle? At this altitude, it feels almost effortless – at least if you know what you’re doing.
Open from April to the end of May, and from mid-September to December.
Penken Park
Speed is the magic word here
Penken Park, located on Mt Penken, gets the adrenaline pumping for snowboarders and freeskiers alike.
Perfectly shaped lines deliver action-packed fun in the mountains for all skill levels.

Ever dreamed of flying through the air and landing like a Hollywood stunt double? Yes, it’s possible – at the Action Park Kreuzwiese (Zillertal Arena). Go big, go wild – and land softly, thanks to a giant high-tech airbag that makes gravity feel like a game.
The landing bag measures an impressive 17 metres wide and 31 metres long.
Sensational: If you’ve got a Super Ski Pass, you can use the airbag for free – a real highlight, since this kind of thrill usually comes with an extra price tag elsewhere.
Tobogganing and snowtubing
Sledging fun and Alpine huts
One, two, even three natural toboggan runs are within easy reach of the resort, either on foot or by taxi.
What children love, adults love even more: First an idyllic ascent through the snowy winter landscape to one of the cosy toboggan huts, then a warming mulled wine or hot chocolate as a reward – before whizzing back down to the valley on a sledge.
And for a modern twist on the classic? Try snowtubing in Ginzling! On a specially prepared track, you can zoom downhill on a tyre. And the best part? It’s free of charge.

Our tip: For night owls, there’s the chance to skate under the stars from Tuesday to Sunday at the ice rink in Tux-Finkenberg.

Just a stone’s throw from our family hotel at the Hintertux Glacier lies one of nature’s most magical secrets: the Natural Ice Palace. Hidden beneath the glacier at 3,250 metres above sea level – near the Gefrorene Wand viewing platform – this shimmering world of ice and light invites explorers of all ages to step into a real-life winter fairy tale.
With a professional guide, you venture deep into this natural palace:
Into the crystal chamber with its shimmering ice crystals, through a walkable glacier crevasse, past frozen waterfalls, across a glacier lake to the blue chamber, and the red-lit ice chapel. You can reach the Almspielerei Eggalm in many ways – on foot via panoramic hiking trails, by e-bike, or quickly and easily with the Eggalm cable car.
Children can look forward to a large water pond with a pull boat, a play raft, and plenty of water features, along with playful Alpine animals carved from wood and much more. Meanwhile, parents can relax on loungers or stop for a bite at the cosy Eggalm mountain restaurant.
A visit to the Almspielerei can easily be combined with the Eggalm hiking rally.
Tip: Be sure to pack some dry clothes and maybe even your swimwear!
