Winter experiences at Adler Inn – more than just skiing
Winter in Hintertux isn’t just white – it’s full of possibilities. While others cosy up by the fireplace, you can explore snow-covered valleys, race down the slopes on a toboggan, or enjoy a romantic carriage ride through the tranquil mountain landscape. Adler Inn – Tyrol Mountain Resort is right in the heart of it all – perfect for those who want to experience winter instead of just admiring it.

Winter hiking – directly from the resort
When snow crunches under your boots and your breath forms little clouds in the crisp air, it’s the perfect time for a winter hike. Around Adler Inn, you’ll find 68 kilometres of beautiful winter hiking trails, starting right at the resort.
Our tip: Take the mountain lifts as a pedestrian and enjoy a whole new perspective of the Zillertal from above.
Snow-shoeing – feel nature, embrace the silence
No lifts, no noise – just you, the crunching snow, and untouched winter landscapes. Snow-shoeing is perhaps the most authentic way to experience winter. Our guided tours with nature expert Anni Stock take you to the most beautiful spots, past animal tracks, and through deep, snow-covered forests.
The highlight:
- Free rental of snowshoes, poles, and rucksacks
Adler Inn’s guided hikes:
- A leisurely hike to the beautiful Bichlalm with a cosy stop for refreshment, around 3 hours.
- Adventure snowshoe hike: Join host and nature guide Anni Stock on a scenic hike to the Höllenstein hut, followed by a toboggan ride, around 4 hours.
- Romantic lantern walk: After a short walk around Lake Nösslaur, enjoy mulled wine, light bites, and a musical surprise on our terrace. (Weather-dependent)
Ice skating and curling – winter fun on ice
On the large natural ice rink in Lanersbach, you can skate elegantly across the ice. And if you fancy a sociable round, try your hand at Bavarian curling – a real Tyrolean classic!
Tip: For night owls, the ice rink is also open in the evenings from Tuesday to Sunday.
Tobogganing – action with Alpine charme
Tobogganing is just for children? Absolutely not! Tobogganing is always fun – whether with friends, family, or during the legendary toboggan evening with host Günther Stock. Two illuminated natural toboggan runs are located right in the resort’s surroundings.
Our tobogganing highlights:
- Bichlalm (1,695m): rustic hut, fantastic cuisine, and sensational views of the Hintertux Glacier
- Höllenstein hut (1,740m): complete with a small mountain farmer’s museum, also accessible by snowshoe
Tip: Enjoy a hearty Tyrolean snack, mulled wine, or a traditional pine schnaps before your ride – a must for bon vivants!
Nature’s Ice Palace – a glacier from within
If you think you already know the Hintertux Glacier, think again – you haven’t experienced Nature’s Ice Palace yet. Venture deep inside the ice – past frozen waterfalls, shimmering crystals, and an underground lake. It’s a natural wonder that you won’t forget.
The highlight for adventurers:
Stand-up paddling on the glacial lake – crazy, but doable!
Cable car breakfast – kick off your day among the clouds
It hardly gets any higher: Enjoy your breakfast in the 10-seater “Gefrorene Wand” cable car on the Hintertux Glacier. As the gondola floats gently over the snow-covered landscape, you’ll be treated to an exclusive breakfast with everything you could wish for – including sparkling wine. Cosy seats, a warm cabin, spectacular views – a morning you’ll never forget. Hop in, lean back, and enjoy!
Ice climbing – push your limits
Climbing an ice wall lets you see the mountains from a whole new perspective. Frozen waterfalls, steep ice walls, and pure challenge – with a professional guide, you can tackle routes at any difficulty level.
Tip:
Our partner ROCKnSNOW offers tailor-made tours for beginners and experts alike.
Ski touring – ascent to the mountain summits
Leave the ski area behind and head straight into the adventure: ski touring in Zillertal is an experience like no other. Step by step, you climb upwards – and are rewarded with stunning panoramic views and magical descents through deep snow.
Carriage rides – pure romance
Warm blankets, cold air, and the soft jingling of bells – a horse-drawn carriage ride through the snow-covered winter forest is pure romance. Especially in the evening, when the stars sparkle above the mountain tops.
Lantern walks – walking in the moonlight
When snow sparkles under your feet and lantern light casts soft shadows, a winter evening becomes something special. Once a week, we take you on a romantic lantern hike through the snowy landscape – quiet, atmospheric, and full of little winter wonders. Back at the resort, we treat you to a hot cup mulled wine by the crackling fire – and for those who want, there’s even the chance to build a snowman in the flickering light.
Just for you: Lanterns are available free of charge at the resort – simply join in and enjoy the evening.
Après-ski, but with style
Hintertux knows how to party, but not only loud. If you love a lively atmosphere, you’ll find the best après-ski locations with live music and a great vibe here with us. Those who prefer to relax can enjoy hot drinks and Tyrolean specialities in the rustic huts.
And for night owls? The Nightliner bus will get you back to the resort safely, even late at night.
